Blog Hopping.......

When did this become me? I mean over 40? Really?  But I am ok. Anyway......

This weekend is going to be very busy! No football game tonight. Well, there is a football game but the powers that be (and they are all enjoying cigars and fine food somewhere in LA and NOT making sure the underlings here in California have a budget! and money for our kids! But I digress....) have decided that the band doesn't need money for buses for us to go support our team! Whatever! It's a night off!
Saturday day is all about Mater and softball (Mater and softball it must be saturday!!!! Four games and a 15 month old! yea!!) And saturday night is battle of the bands! All nine area high schools competing against each other!! Should be fun!!!

Sunday I have proclaimed to be cleanning day! Honey told the children everyone MUST be home by 8am Sunday, but didn't tell them why! I feel kinda bad cause at first they thought we were going somewhere until they asked what they should wear (yes my children plan like that!!) and I said, work clothes!!
Charging up the camera batteries as we speak!!!! Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!!!!

  4. I'll be glad when the cigar smoker is out of Sacramento too-- But I'm afraid of who we'll get next. This has been a CRAZY campaign with a wild amount of $$$$ being spent. If only that loot was put to really good use.

    Happy weekend, jj

  5. When DID we get this old? :0) I just love Java's 40 and Over Blog Hop. It is my absolute favorite.

I'm sorry to hear about your funding issues with your band. I think it is awful when TPTB decide to take money away from our music programs! UGH! I get SO ANGRY just thinking about it! They wouldn't dare take it away from the football team, that is for sure. At least not here in the south!

I bet 'The Battle of the Bands' will be awesome! Where is it held? Is it just your local high schools or will more schools come to participate? I {{heart}} watching our band in competitions. I wish I were able to go to more, but I'm not able to due to my illness.

How many children do have in band and what do they play? I have 2 daughters who have been active in the high school marching band for the last 5 years combined. The oldest one just started college this fall and is studying music education at Auburn University. However, she was so burnt out with the whole marching thing, she decided not to march in college. We were a little disappointed but she is still in the Orchestra and Symphonic band there. My youngest daughter is a junior in high school and is the saxophone section leader in the Marching band. She plays Alto in Marching and Symphonic band and Tenor in Jazz Band.

Well, I'm sorry to ramble on and on. I just get excited when I find another band mom! :0)

I hope y'all have an awesome weekend. Good luck at competition and at the ball games.

    Blessings,

    Teresa <><
