I did It!!!!!!

30 posts in 30 days!!!!!! I did it!!!! It wasn't easy at times (cause let's face it - my life isn't all that exciting - somewhat busy but not too terribly exciting!!!)

And so now on to something else. I think I will do the Project 365 a picture a day for 365 days. I will start tomorrow. December 1st. Lucky for me I have two cameras, I guess I will really learn to use them now!! Heehee!!! One I usually have on me at all times and the other I have for special occasions. I love both my cameras. Ok well, we are off to AVC for the basketball game. Yea, the band is playing, they have been the AVC basketball band for two years now! Pretty cool for a high school band that has only been around for five years! Anyway, if you see me, smile cause you will probably be on camera!!!

Some thoughts....

Well, it has been a week since Honeys' surgery. We have been to the doctor and she is doing well. This week has been hard and great at the same time. With so many kids and with all their activities and our activities sometimes, "Our Time" gets lost. This past week everyone has been out of the house so we have had lots of us time. We have watched movies, talked, giggled, planned, napped, and figured out how much we really like being together. My mom once told me, (and she had five kids in eight years) that if a couple can get through the kid years, it is so worth it. I guess every now and then a couple still needs some time away from the kids during the kid years. I know I do. I got one more day and then back to sharing her with everyone. So, tomorrow I am making her favorite biscuits and gravy for breakfast, grilled cheese for lunch and spagetti with meat sauce and garlic bread for dinner. And so now you can see how the picture above ties into my thoughts for today!!!!

A FO, Max, and Yarn to be.....

Ok, so I have finally finished this sweater for my nephew. The pattern is from Creative Knitting magazine. November 2007 issue. I used Caron Simply Shadows. It was relatively simple to knit and was my first sweater. I still need to find the perfect buttons. Jake loves ALL kinds of sports, so maybe something with a sports theme.

This container is seven months worth of fur from Max and Baby. I know it doesn't seem like a lot for huskies and it isn't but we haven't had a "coat blow" yet. I understand that when these dogs blow their coats it gets ugly. Maybe since I have the furmanitor it won't really be bad and ugly. Fingers crossed. It is really compacted and stuffed in there. Hopefully, the spring coat blow will allow me to send this fur out to be spun into yarn. I hope to have four of these filled by the time I send it out. Go here for info on dog hair yarn.

She loves me.....

Really she does... but she is not happy because the doctor said she can't go back to work until NEXT week and no working out until after the first of the year.
Doesn't she look happy?

Our boys - the band - and SANTA!!!!

Tomorrow is the day...The Hollywood Christmas Parade and the Pete Knight High School marching band will be there!!! You can check out the list of bands here.

Andy is the lead cymbal player and has been with the band for the last three years. The red head is Steven and he is normally our jock - he played freshman football for KHS this year, but has joined the band "to be on T.V."
Handsome, huh? I know! The parade will be televised on December 16th on KTLA. I cannot believe it is not being televised tomorrow night, it won't be Thanksgiving without the the parade, but I guess, things must change...............

When It Rains.....

First I would like to say thank you to Darcy and Carol
for their really kind words and prayers during this last week. The picture above shows Honeys protectors - yup you counted correctly - four puppies making sure she does NOT get up from that couch until Monday! Heehee!!
Now my week continues...see the picture below? Yea, well that is my hand after I stupidly broke up a dog fight and got bit. (My babies weren't fighting by the way, it was a female dominance thang!!!) Can you believe it?? When it rains it pours!!! The picture below is my mini Christmas display!! That is Buck in his christmas pj's and Rudolph, our build a bears!! The sparkly christmas tree was made by one of the kids this past week - they are so talented my babies!!!

Day 4 And it continues.....

Yesterday we did not see a doctor until 4:00pm!!! 4:00pm people!! She was at the hospital from 10:48 am Monday and did not see a doctor until 4:00pm TUESDAY!! Then, her liver enzymes were off the chart and we saw THREE doctors in an hour.

Turns out Honey has a stone blocking her bile duct. GI to scope today and then the surgeon will remove her gallbladder. Hopefully she will be home tonight, if not then I get to spend Thanksgiving in the hospital. Yea me!!!

Day Three

OK well, I am off to the hospital for day three of the gall stone saga!!! But here is some husky loveliness. (The bottom picture is Precious thinking she is all that and a bag of chips. No harm came to the chihuahua, just to her ego!!! Heehee!!)

Gall Stones!!!

Ok, we spent the last eight hours at the emergency room. Honey was doubled over in pain and having trouble breathing and sweaty, so off to the er we went. Turns out that she has an inflammed gall bladder and lots of gall stones.

Lots of antibiotics and pain meds later, we are home. The inflammation needs to go away and then surgery.

Well, I am off to put Honey to bed. More tomorrow.

The above is Honey and her father. We were at his house for a birthday party. Honey's brother turned 10 and we celebrated with dinner and pie! Her stepmom makes really great chocolate stuff. A little hotness!!!!

Matt Damon is the Sexiest Man Alive. I'd have to agree. This is not the best picture of him, I don't think. I met Brad Pitt once and he is shorter than I thought and at the time he was in his scruffy phase, but still hot.

And finally, I made this bit of hotness today!!! One down, six to go!! This year we all get new stockings!!! Pretty good if I do say so myself. I used a pattern, McCalls. Fabric is from WalMart, $2.00 a yard and I can probably get two more stockings out of the yard. But of course, I can't do that because no one can have the same stocking. Mix and match but not exact.

Lazy, kick back day!!!

Today was for watching movies and eating popcorn with the family. We watched: Knocked Up, License To Wed, and Spiderman III. Spiderman was freakin' long!!!!! But I really enjoyed the movie. Knocked Up was hilarous!!!! License to Wed was, in my opinion not that great. It felt like the director really put a leash on Robin Williams. Too bad, because instead of being funny and insightful, Mr. Williams came off as mean and bland. And Mandy Moores hair really bothered me the whole movie. I'm thinking that if the stars HAIR is what sticks out then the movie is in some serious trouble. Saturday night I screened, I now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. Kevin James was hysterical and Adam Sandler was just ok. I'd heard the movie wasn't that great and kinda played to sterotypes, but I laughed and thought it was EXACTLY what it was supposed to be, a comedy. I laughed, so I guess it worked.

Tomorrow the kids are back in school, THANK GOODNESS!!! Because stuff like the note below happens when the kids have too much time on their hands!!!! (With six kids in the house we had a rotating shower and chore schedule, but it failed miserably. All that remains now is the "chore board". I suppose it will come down soon once painting in that part of the house resumes!!!!!)

I finished two things today!!!

Today I finished the second fetching and a cotton purse!!! Pictures tomorrow because I haven't gotten my lazy butt off the couch today to take pictures!!! So enjoy a picture of Precious sleeping on her mommy!!!

One hand down....

Horrible pictures, I know!!!! But lookee I finished the left arm!!!!!

I used Bernat Softee Chunky, I think. I have done cables, but the cabled cast on and thumb part were new. Taking out the waste yarn to add the thumb was very scary, but I did it!!! Maybe now, actual gloves! I am out of practice using dpn's, I prefer two circs. But I don't think gloves can be made (the finger parts) with circs!!! Anyone out there who has done gloves with circs???? Well, off to start the next hand!!!!

Some Knitting today

Today I cast on for this:

Fetching from Knitty!!! The pattern says start on Friday, finish on Sunday!!! Almost instant gratification!!! Pictures when I am done!!

I know I am late to the fetching movement, but better late then never!!!!

Nothing New Today

So I will post a picture of this bit of loveliness!!!! I am continuing to knit a toddler sweater from Creative Knitting magazine. I
have the fronts done and now I am working on the hood. Pictures soon but right now everything is a rolled up log!!!! That's about it from the creative front. More tomorrow!!!!

Look What We Did Today!!!!!

This what the "hallway" wall looked like before the paint. Notice the reall really washed out light purple!!!!!! The spackle is because I LOVE to hang pictures!!! (and rearrange them!!!!!) My house my rules!!!! The kids have distroyed this part the wall. Someone even wrote HI on the wall!!! I guess I need to let everyone enjoy freedom of expression!!!! They also broke the drawer and bent the door of my linen cabinet!!!!! (Have I told everyone how much I love having six children in the house!!!!!)
And now for the finish!!!!

Ok yea I know, Honey is a HUGE Dodger fan. What you see there is one of TWO bookcases for her Dodger stuff!!!When children finally move out then she is getting a whole room devoted to her beloved Dodgers. For right now the collection is in the family room!!!
And I know no carpet or flooring. I pulled the carpet up this past summer and since I know I will be painting this winter, I haven't put new flooring down yet!!! I am planning on using area rugs this winter so the kids aren't sitting on cold cement.
As an aside - notice the school ribbons hanging from the brown cabinet!!! You'd think children who get school academic ribbons wouldn't write on the freakin' house walls!!!!!!

And now for knitting and some quilting....

I finished this, and if by finished one means quit the knitting part without finishing the edging or ribbon detail, for the new baby that will be here in March!!!

It is from the Mason-Dixon Knitting book. The baby kimono pattern. It was easy and fun and I will be making this pattern again. I used peaches and creme in pink. Below is the baby hat I made for Daijah, the baby girl of one players on the Amazons (thank you to Contrary for the linking help!!! As you can see you did help and I am linking like crazy!!!!!). I used an old Red Heart freebie pattern that I have and is totally tatered. Anyway, it is made in the round and the pattern can be adjusted to use about 80 million different yarn weights and 80 million different size heads!! (Ok maybe not 80 million, but you get the idea!!) Daijah is so freakin' cute and I am gonna miss seeing her every week!!!!
I have also finished a traveling/snuggle pillow for Honey. I used the block called, Card Trick. I think it turned out pretty well.

This past weekend we bought one of these:Furminator These are the greatest things ever!!!! I used it on all the animals and the amount of hair I pulled out of them would boggle your mind!!!! I thought I was doing a good job with my other comb, but holey moley!!!!!
