Ann over at Bella Crochet had a contest. Her patterns are awesome, so I thought I would enter. And I won!! A treasure box of crochet goodies and five pdf patterns from her webpage (BellaCrochet.com!!)
The pattern below is what I am now attempting!!! I love her patterns!!!
Honey and I collect Darth Vader (me) and Yodas (her). So, the same day my treasure box came, I also found these from my Honey!!!!
Today I have a final in Legal Research and writing. Two more classes (actually 29 days) and I have my degree in Paralegal Studies.
I have been feeling very homesick and in a really funky mood. So I went home. Not to the house I live in now, but to the house where I grew up. I lived in that house from the time I was 5 years old until I got married at 22. I dream about the house. I cried when my parents sold it in 1990. I envy my classmates that still live in the area and wish with all my heart that I could afford to live there. Big, heart heavy sigh!!!!
The above is the lighthouse, Point Vincente Lighthouse. I could hear it sound it's horn on foggy nights from my house. My house is below. Well, the front door. My kids and I were standing on the front and I was taking pictures when the "new" owner opened the door. She and her husband bought the house in 1992 and she loves it as much as we (my family) did and does. She and her husband graciously invited us in to walk around. And I must tell you I shed a few tears seeing the old place! I told stories to my kids and showed them my room. After I had my fill of memories, we piled back in the car and I drove them around to my high school, we went to see the parents of my friends and went to see the Paseo del Mar slide area.
So, I waste, I mean SPEND, hours on Pinterest and I found these really cool ideas!!! Glue a rock on an empty prescription bottle, then put an extra house key (or whatever) and bury it it in the front yard!! Positively brillant!!
Next came this idea!! As I am driving around town, I look for old tires on the side of the road. When I see one, I pull over and throw it in the back of the truck!! (Yea, my kids love me! Heehee!)
Right now I have about seven tires sitting in the driveway. I bought spray paint and went to town. Ended up with this:
I cannot wait to go get the rest of my colors and finish this project!!!
My sister-in-law asked me if I could make a Raggy Tag blanket. So, here is what I made.....
I lined the back with flannel and just tried to match the "tags" to the material. Honey brought it our niece this week. She is in Florida for Thanksgiving (yeah, let's not get into she is missing Thanksgiving with me!!! But she is seeing her brother so all is well...)
I am told that despite the look on her face, a few more blankies need to be made as this one is covered in drool!!
